Hazel Hotchkiss Wightman wins three U.S. National Lawn Tennis championships.

(?) Hotchkiss wins the singles, doubles and mixed doubles championships. She repeats as champion in 1910 and 1911, and, after marrying Bostonian George Wightman, in 1912. All told, she wins a total of 44 national titles, as well as the Wimbledon and Olympic doubles titles in 1924.
